About

How it Started

The Wamolo Foundation, a beacon of hope in Roanoke, Virginia, is a charitable organization founded by Oluwaseyi and Olora Bamidele. This remarkable couple, along with their six children, have twice overcome the daunting challenges of homelessness and life on hotel row. Their firsthand experiences with family homelessness have ignited a powerful commitment to prevent similar fates for others. Driven by compassion and resilience, the Bamidele family has dedicated their lives to liberating families from the clutches of instability. Through the Wamolo Foundation, they tirelessly work to transition families from transient hotel living and homelessness into stable, secure homes. Their journey from adversity to advocacy not only transforms lives but also fosters a community of support and empowerment, ensuring that no family has to face the struggles they once did alone.

Why Wamolo?

Wamolo, an acronym for Way More Love, encapsulates the core values and guiding principles of our foundation. Love is more than just a feeling; it is an action and the driving force that fuels our passion and commitment to making a difference. It is embedded in the very foundation of the Wamolo Foundation, inspiring us to connect deeply with our fellow humans and support families in need. This profound love motivates us to initiate meaningful change and progress, ensuring that our mission is fulfilled with compassion and empathy. We believe that by spreading love and kindness, we can create a ripple effect that transforms communities, empowers families, and fosters a world where love is the universal language. Join us in our pursuit to make the world a better place, one filled with way more love.

"Families are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population, accounting for almost 40%-50% of the nation's homeless population."
